About The Position

As a Security Guard - Distribution Screening Specialist in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a logistics and distribution location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and monitoring assigned areas. Your role involves utilizing screening technology, being visible to the public, and providing outstanding customer service while supporting loss prevention and access control efforts. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X‐Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as needed.
  • Screen individuals and/or packages entering the logistics and distribution location to help to deter prohibited items and unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and provide a visible presence.
  • Document and report any irregularities, suspicious activities, or security-related incidents according to established procedures.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and delivery personnel while maintaining a security-related presence.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and site personnel to support a secure environment.
