Job Description As a Security Officer - MetroLink in St. Clair County, IL , Working in conjunction with a Metropolitan Transit Task Force and our client security teams. MetroLink security professionals provide safety and security of riders on the transit light rail system, station platforms throughout the Greater St. Louis region. Customer service skills are a high priority. This is an outdoor posted position. Duties will include post security until relieved. Position Type: Part Time Each candidate must have achieved at least one of the following to qualify: Military service that included law enforcement or security duties (e.g., military police, elite military forces, and combat arms) or support in a combat zone Eight years' active service in any military branch Bachelor's degree in law enforcement or criminal justice Associate degree in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service Graduation from a certified public safety academy in law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighting Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour Job Schedule: Day Time Fri 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM Sat 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM Sun 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM Why Join Us: Smart Tools: Access to our exclusive technology to view and claim additional shifts to earn more. Requirements

  • Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Have 1 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activities to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity within the government facility.
  • Assist visitors and employees with directions and information as needed.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and promptly.
  • Follow all Allied Universal and site-specific protocols and procedures while on duty.
