Security Guard - Chemical Access Control

Job Description As a Security Guard - Chemical Access Control in Sulphur, LA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor entry points, patrol designated areas, and help to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service. This role will require driving as part of your daily responsibilities. You will play a key part in maintaining a secure environment through teamwork, communication, and a caring approach that puts people first.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Must have 1 or more years of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of security supervisor or manager experience or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and authorizations of personnel and visitors in accordance with site-specific policies.
- Provide customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting individuals at entry and exit points.
- Carry out security-related procedures and follow established protocols for the protection of people and property at the location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following emergency response guidelines as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
- Document observations and report any irregularities, including property damage, theft, or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal management to address security-related concerns and support a secure environment.
