About The Position

As a Security Guard - Armed Rover Driver in Sandston, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with calm professionalism. This post requires an Armed Guard Card or License and a valid driver’s license per AU Driver Policy Requirements. Bring strong communication skills, solid judgment, and a teamwork mindset rooted in integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or Armed Guard License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and documenting details per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification and authorization, monitoring visitor processing, and directing persons to the appropriate areas.
  • Complete required reports, logs, and incident documentation, and communicate observations and/or concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
