About The Position

As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Officer in Memphis, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a busy healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, support staff, patients, and visitors with calm communication and customer service, and document activity with accuracy. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Handcuffs/pepper spray/baton is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter, documenting observations and reporting maintenance and security-related concerns.
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and requesting medical staff support and/or law enforcement as needed.
  • Control access at designated points by verifying identification, managing visitor protocols, and monitoring for prohibited items and suspicious behavior to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Maintain readiness of issued equipment and firearms in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures, completing required reports and logs for incidents, patrols, and security-related activities.
