About The Position

As a Security Guard - Armed Officer Government Full-Time in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations to help protect people and property. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a valid armed guard card or license for armed positions.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and when appropriate, responding to emergencies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor for security-related hazards and report any irregularities as required.
• Maintain a visible presence while patrolling to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Support Allied Universal and client policies through consistent and professional conduct.
• Interact professionally with employees, visitors, and/or the public while on patrol.
• Complete detailed and accurate reports of security-related incidents and activities as required by the site.
• Maintain readiness to respond to incidents, including those that may require an armed response, in accordance with assigned post duties.
