Job Description As a Security Guard - Armed Museum Patrol in Columbia, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a dynamic cultural institution, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors and staff. Requirements

A minimum of one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
An armed guard card or license is required.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas within the location to help to deter unauthorized access.
Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter potential security-related incidents.
Work collaboratively with staff and visitors to address inquiries and provide assistance as needed.
Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs as required by Allied Universal and site management.
Follow all protocols for handling security-related incidents, including coordination with law enforcement when necessary.
