About The Position

As a Security Guard – Armed Mall Security in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a dynamic retail location, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a visible presence. You will interact with visitors and staff, providing excellent customer service while upholding our values of reliability, innovation, and integrity. Requirements

Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security experience or possess a college degree.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Hold a Level III armed certification if applying in Texas.
An armed guard card or license is preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation techniques as needed.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail or mall location and its perimeter to help to deter potential security-related risks.
Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and suspicious activities.
Maintain clear and accurate documentation of patrols, incidents, and observations as required by Allied Universal and client site protocols.
Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary, following established communication guidelines.
Support Allied Universal leadership and client representatives by reporting security-related concerns and recommending improvements as observed during patrols.
