About The Position

As a Security Guard - Armed Government Facility 21+ in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, responding to incidents, and delivering outstanding customer service through clear communication. Requirements

  • Have at least one year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
  • Possess an active armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local laws and regulations.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner to help maintain order at the location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the property and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.
  • Monitor for suspicious behavior and/or activities and report findings according to established protocols.
  • Interact professionally with visitors, employees, and/or contractors to help to deter unwanted actions and provide assistance as needed.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and actions taken during the shift in accordance with Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and first responders when required, providing accurate information as necessary.
