As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service with calm, clear communication. This role requires an Armed Guard Card or License and a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit, and offers a team-focused environment where integrity, reliability, and innovation guide how we serve the public.

Requirements

  • Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors at a government location by following site-specific security-related procedures, access requirements, and emergency response protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify suspicious activity, hazards, and/or policy violations, and communicate findings to the appropriate parties.
  • Monitor entry points, screening areas, and restricted zones, verifying identification, authorizations, and/or visitor logs in accordance with post orders and government facility requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, disturbances, medical calls, and/or fire-related events, and coordinate with local responders as needed.
  • Complete detailed security-related reports, maintain shift activity logs, and handle assigned equipment and firearms in compliance with Allied Universal policies, applicable laws, and site-specific rules.
