Security Guard - Access Control
About The Position
As a Security Guard - Utility Gate Driver in Monroe, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Professional assigned to an access control post in a utilities location, you will monitor entrances, conduct routine patrols, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, clear communication, and upholding our company's values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first. This position requires a valid driver's license and may involve driving responsibilities as part of your daily duties.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the utility location, including access control responsibilities.
- Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and verify credentials of individuals entering the premises.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the utility environment.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to observe and report any unusual activity or potential concerns.
- Assist with emergency response activities as needed, in accordance with site-specific guidelines.
- Communicate professionally with visitors, employees, and contractors to address inquiries and provide information about security-related procedures.
- Document observations and incidents accurately and promptly, maintaining records as required by Allied Universal and the client site.
