We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Security Engineering Technical Leader to lead our Security Engineering team. This role is critical to ensuring enterprise, terminal factory, and endpoint security controls are designed, implemented, and operated effectively to support Aurora’s business operations, safety objectives, and risk posture.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or enterprise platform security.
  • Proven experience leading engineers in a technical lead and manager role.
  • Demonstrated technical capability to perform complex engineering work, including design, configuration, integration, and deployment of security tools and controls.
  • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise security tooling, including endpoint protection and EDR/XDR (e.g., Crowdstrike), MDM/UEM, DLP, DNS filtering, network security scanning, WAF, DDoS mitigation, IAM platforms, PAM, PKI and cert management, and SIEM.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust and identity-centric security architectures.
  • Experience supporting cloud security (AWS) controls and integrations.
  • Familiarity with NIST, CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, and cyber threat modeling.
  • Experience operating in environments that balance delivery velocity, operational reliability, governance, risk, and safety requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with proven ability to communicate clearly with all leadership levels.
  • Comfort leading in an ambiguous, teamwork-oriented environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience securing factory, manufacturing, or other operational environments.
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance activities, or Safety Case efforts.
  • Background in complex, safety-critical, or regulated environments.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.
  • Familiarity with systems architecture, distributed systems, and microservices.
  • Professional security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the technical authority for Enterprise Security Engineering.
  • Lead hands-on design and implementation of enterprise security solutions.
  • Review and approve technical designs to ensure alignment with enterprise security standards, risk-based prioritization, and operational sustainability.
  • Define and maintain security goals and requirements for enterprise, terminal, factory, and endpoint environments.
  • Ensure enterprise security services, including those supporting factory and terminal environments are reliable, scalable, and supportable.
  • Act as a trusted technical partner for resolving complex or ambiguous security issues.
  • Translate Enterprise Security strategy into clear, executable engineering roadmaps.
  • Actively contribute to annual roadmap planning, including defining scope, sequencing, and dependencies, and providing input on feasibility, tradeoffs, and delivery risk.
  • Drive execution of approved initiatives through disciplined delivery.
  • Balance new initiatives, technical debt, and operational commitments.
  • Establish and maintain runbooks, documentation, and operational processes.
  • Act as an escalation point for enterprise security incidents, investigations, and remediation.
  • Provide technical input, supporting artifacts, and zonal report to meet assigned Enterprise Security claims within the Safety Case.
  • Lead and manage a team of technical security engineers; provide technical coaching and mentorship.
  • Set clear expectations for ownership, accountability, decision-making, and escalation.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
