You are: We are seeking a Security Engineer to assist in the design, development, and implementation of security and privacy measures and systems. Additionally, this person will support the development of security policies and procedures and monitor compliance with security and privacy standards. This person will help with the preparation of security documentation, conduct basic security assessments, and support incident response activities. This person will help conduct vulnerability assessments, and document security configurations. This person will assist in maintaining privacy impact assessments and ensuring adherence to privacy regulations. This person will be responsible for supporting security compliance and privacy controls under supervision. This person will help monitor security and privacy metrics and assist in conducting security and privacy training. This person will be responsible for supporting the security architecture and maintaining Zero Trust compliance. This person will assist in routine security and privacy tasks, help maintain security and privacy tools, and support the team in preparing reports and assessments. This person will learn to conduct basic vulnerability scans and assist in interpreting results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, basic knowledge of security tools and techniques (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS)
  • Basic understanding of security and privacy principles, familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
  • Good analytical and communication skills
  • One of these following certifications: GIAC/CISSP/CASP+, or equivalent DoD 8140/8570-level certification, SecurityX / CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, CSC, GCLD, GSEC
  • Basic cyber planning and analysis skills
  • Experience in securing information systems, network infrastructures, or related technologies
  • In-depth technical knowledge of current methods for securing information sources and delivery mechanisms
  • Ability to define procedures relevant to securing technology
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams
  • US Citizenship required
  • Active Secret Clearance
