Overview: We are seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Cybersecurity Engineer responsible for maintaining and building security tools, with a focus on Tier 3 troubleshooting and engineering for various products.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of work experience in Cybersecurity and IT.
  • Strong background in IT, with specific expertise in security engineering and SIEM experience (Splunk preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Linux server administration, troubleshooting, and building (CentOS/RHEL preferred).
  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools for operating systems, web applications, and database assessments.
  • Experience developing/integrating cybersecurity designs for systems and networks.
  • Must hold an Active Secret clearance-no dual citizenship
  • At least one of the following: CISSP, CCSP, CCNA, CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, GIAC, SSCP, Security+ (or equivalent as approved by the Government).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with project maintenance, including documentation, coordination, and artifact handoffs.
  • Zscaler experience is a plus
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure) preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with SOAR tools such as Swimlane is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations and administration of servers and security tools in an enterprise environment while adhering to change management policies.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot security tools and systems.
  • Develop system security context, preliminary CONOPS, and define baseline security requirements in compliance with applicable cybersecurity standards.
  • Document protection needs (security controls) for systems and networks.
  • Work with vulnerability scanning tools and remediate identified issues.
  • Coordinate with other teams to maintain and troubleshoot security tools, as well as manage project documentation and handoffs.
  • Perform security reviews, assess gaps in security architecture, and develop mitigation strategies.
