About the Role As a Security Engineer Intern, you’ll contribute to building open, transparent, and secure AI systems. You’ll have the opportunity to work on projects that safeguard corporate assets by implementing and operating preventative and reactive security controls while collaborating with teams and stakeholders across the company. We’re looking for an intern that is interested in building AI-assisted security apps. This role is on-site at our HQ in San Francisco, California.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, earned or expected by Summer 2027
• Strong programming skills with a proficiency in Python or bash
• Exposure to building AI assisted applications

Nice To Haves

• Prior security engineering experience through internships, hackathons, or projects
• Experience working with authentication and authorization technologies used for workload identities
• Exposure working with kernel drivers and computer architecture

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-wide security solutions to support security initiatives
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code with a focus on maintainability
• Collaborate with IT to implement and enforce IAM best practices, policies, and procedures, and lead the implementation
• Build AI-driven models to enhance security-related tasks, such as data classification and security detection and response

• The estimated US hourly rate for this role is $58/hr.
• Our hourly rates are determined by location, level and role.
• Individual compensation will be determined by experience, skills, and job-related knowledge.
