About The Position

Receive emergency or non-emergency calls, dispatching personnel and equipment, and providing pre-arrival instructions to callers by performing the following duties.

Requirements

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate emergency calls and relay daily information and assistance requests involving other law enforcement and firefighting agencies.
• Enter, update, and retrieve information from computer systems relating to radio traffic, lost and found, stolen property, and other information.
• Test, inspect, and operate radio, telephone, computer, and other equipment as needed.
• Prepare, review, and maintain reports, statistics, and records.
