About The Position

As a Security Dispatcher at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, security, and welfare of our hospital community. Working within established guidelines, procedures, and protocols, you will provide essential administrative and dispatching support to protect Children's personnel, visitors, patients, and property. Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or public relations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Some college.
• Relevant professional certification in emergency dispatching or communications.
• Healthcare or emergency services experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point for emergency communications, handling high priority calls and dispatch security personnel promptly and efficiently.
• Monitor and respond to a variety of alarms (fire, boiler, panic, codes, etc.) and initiate appropriate emergency protocols.
• Oversee CCTV surveillance, identifying and reporting unusual activities to maintain a secure environment.
• Utilize advanced dispatching systems to deploy security officers to critical areas and document all activities accurately.
• Coordinate with staff and emergency services to manage incidents effectively and ensure a rapid response.
• Maintain comprehensive logs and records, including daily activities, incident reports, and parking citations.
• Make clear, concise, and urgent overhead announcements during emergencies to guide personnel and visitors.
• Assist with emergency functions including current event monitoring, weather monitoring, and disaster support.
• Ensure all reporting means are performed accurately and timely.
• Maintain a clean, organized area.
