About The Position

The Security Dispatcher at UCLA Health Systems plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors by managing emergency and non-emergency calls. Requirements

• Dispatch Post Certification (must be attained within 12 months of employment if not already possessed).
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a dispatcher in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate accurately and timely with supervisors, staff, patients, and visitors.
• Skill in word processing using Windows-based software including Excel spreadsheets/graphs.
• Ability to operate two-way radio equipment and perform routine maintenance.

Nice To Haves

• General knowledge of basic medical and law enforcement terminology.
• Skill in interacting diplomatically with the public in a high-volume setting.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch security personnel to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Process and record emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Operate a computer dispatch system and monitor alarms and access control systems.
• Visually monitor an extensive CCTV system.
• Coordinate and prioritize multiple requests for service received simultaneously.
• Produce documents and paperwork following established policies and guidelines.
