About The Position

As a Director, Enterprise Security Sales Engineering (ESSE) at Datadog, you will lead a global team of high-performing security solution engineering specialists responsible for driving the adoption of our security platform across key Enterprise accounts. You will play a critical role in building the next phase of Datadog’s enterprise security business, through deep engagement with key security decision makers at our customers, showcasing how enterprise observability is the new paradigm for effective and real-time enterprise security. You will partner closely with enterprise security sales leadership to identify customer needs, craft go to market strategy, demonstrate the value of Datadog's security solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction. Requirements

  • Demonstrated success leading solution engineering teams into security stakeholders across CISO, SecOps, GRC, as well as DevSecOps and CTO.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security products, SIEM, CNAPP, DevSecOps, container/Kubernetes security, and security workflow automation.
  • Have expert understanding of securing AI and AI for security.
  • Is naturally proactive, constantly introducing new ideas and finding better and more efficient ways to help SEs deliver better outcomes for our customers.
  • Someone who’s hyper-focused on building and growing a healthy security SaaS business that drives profitability and top-line revenue for Datadog.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and navigate complex joint selling motions, particularly with partners and channel organizations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with both internal teams and customer executives.
  • Expert storytelling capabilities, with a strong ability to explain complex security concepts into everyday language that both technical and business audiences can understand.
  • Experience building, managing and mentoring high-performance solution engineers in a co-sell / overlay structure.
  • Passion for building scalable processes and fostering a collaborative, inclusive team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in the largest and most strategic security opportunities to lead strategy and oversee execution of technical discovery and successful PoVs.
  • Particularly for this role, you will be masterful at cross-functional collaboration at Datadog. You will be partnering closely and executing tightly with key security stakeholders in product, engineering, research, architecture, marketing, enablement, support, advocacy, growth strategy, and account management.
  • Develop and operationalize a repeatable formula and methodology that can scale across a large customer base, enabling Datadog to accelerate enterprise security growth by illustrating to customers how our security solutions quickly, simply, and efficiently deliver measurable security outcomes especially in a world increasingly dominated by autonomous AI Agents.
  • Serve as a senior voice and executive escalation advisor for Datadog security solutions in the field, supporting your team in high-value engagements with CISOs, SecOps, and GRC stakeholders.
  • Track competitive developments, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to ensure the team is equipped to position Datadog as a leader in cloud security.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high performing team of preeminent security SE specialists, and also expand the team by hiring security solution engineers who are curious, resourceful, competitive, and have a builder and startup mindset.
