The Security Coordinator is responsible for responding to criminal activities, emergencies, and life safety issues within the company. This role involves coordinating security activities with the Security Operations Center, acting as a liaison with law enforcement, and ensuring the safety and security of corporate assets. The position requires the ability to manage critical incidents and maintain compliance with security policies and regulations.

  • Regularly responds to emergencies and life safety issues such as intrusions and fire alarms.
  • Conducts preliminary investigations and writes detailed incident reports.
  • Maintains effective site security of corporate assets through contract staff and security systems.
  • Ensures proper site security and security systems exist system-wide through audits and customer contacts.
  • Acts as an Incident Commander during critical incidents, following the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
  • Maintains communications within the Chain of Command structure and ensures confidentiality of sensitive investigations.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and applicable laws related to corporate security.
  • Acts as the company's liaison with law enforcement agencies for crime-related investigations.
  • Responds to call-outs on a rotational basis or as needed.
  • High school degree or GED plus five years of experience as a Certified Peace Officer or Military Law Enforcement Officer.
  • Ability to meet Arizona P.O.S.T. standards for firearms qualification and maintain proficiency with assigned weapons.
  • Must be able to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Must pass an initial psychological evaluation as per APS Authorized Weapons Procedure.
  • Criminal Intelligence and Threat Assessment background preferred.
  • Separation from a Law Enforcement Agency within five years of appointment is highly preferred.
