About The Position

Security Coordinator American Cruise Lines is seeking a shoreside Security Coordinator to join our team in Guilford, CT, supporting a growing fleet operating unique itineraries along the rivers and coastal waterways of the East Coast, Pacific Northwest, Columbia–Snake River System, and Mississippi–Ohio–Cumberland Rivers. This role is well suited for a maritime security professional with experience in coastal and river vessel operations and U.S. Coast Guard safety and security regulations. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, disciplined professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within teams are essential. Requirements

  • Experience as a law enforcement officer and desired experience in marine law enforcement.
  • Experience in marine security program execution.
  • Desired Coast Guard experience executing and/or managing security programs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite programs, documents, and calendars.
  • Poised communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent intrapersonal and professional relationship-building skills.
  • Proven multi-tasking and prioritization project execution skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Desired Coast Guard experience executing and/or managing security programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily fleet execution and documentation of shipboard and facility security programs.
  • Implement and manage fleet security programs and practices, to regulatory and industry best practice standards.
  • Implement and update Vessel Security Plans, Vessel Declarations of Security, and onboard security procedures to regulatory standards.
  • Implement and update risk reduction and incident prevention practices within vessel procedures.
  • Oversee fleet and facility security equipment selection, inventorying, and use.
  • Complete preliminary incident assessment and investigative inputs in a timely manner, identifying key facts and potential causes of incidents.
  • Oversee and audit required security incident reporting to regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee fleet documentation of incidents.
  • Implement and track approved follow-on actions, determined from security incident assessments.
  • Participate in cross-department fleet safety and security group meetings assessing fleet procedures, practices, incidents, and actions.
  • Build teamwork across Marine, Engineering, and Hotel department managers and procedures.
