About The Position

Security Control Assessor The Opportunity: As a cyber mission specialist, you understand the value of hunt-forward operations, and you know that battles are won in the grey. At Booz Allen, you can use your cyberspace operations experience to create solutions that will be executed on a worldwide stage. We’re looking for an experienced cyber mission specialist like you to apply your Risk Management Framework (RMF) knowledge for the Air Force and Space Force. In this role, you’ll be counted on to understand cyberspace capabilities to evaluate potential weaknesses as well as the effectiveness of mitigations for cybersecurity solutions. You will leverage your cybersecurity expertise to harden systems, conduct vulnerability assessments, and bolster the organization's security posture. This is an opportunity to use your experience to assess the entire threat landscape. Then you’ll guide your client through a plan of action with presentations, whitepapers, and milestones. You’ll work with your client to translate security concepts, so they can make the best decisions to secure their mission-critical systems and critical infrastructure. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in system security engineering, including applying STIGs
  • 3+ years of experience developing and implementing material and non-material system security solutions for SCI environments
  • Experience with conducting security assessments, documenting actions, and validating accreditation under RMF
  • Experience with developing System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs), and accreditation artifacts
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools, including ACAS, HBSSS, or Splunk
  • Knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53 controls, and DoD cybersecurity policies
  • Ability to design and implement secure architectures for SCI environments
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • DoD 8140 Level II Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cyber range design, implementation, and operations, including realistic threat simulations
  • Experience preparing Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools for security tasks, including PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
  • Knowledge of SATCOM or tactical network security
  • Possession of excellent technical writing skills
  • DoD 8140 IAM Level III Certification, including CISSP, CISM, CAP, CEH, GSEC, or similar Certification

  • Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
  • The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD).
  • The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
