About The Position

As a Security Consultant in the Red Team at Google Public Sector, you will play a crucial role in helping clients prepare for, mitigate, and respond to cybersecurity threats. This position involves conducting offensive security assessments, including penetration testing and red teaming, to identify vulnerabilities in client networks, applications, and devices. You will also provide consulting services, assess security controls, and communicate complex security concepts to various stakeholders, ensuring that clients are equipped to defend against cyber threats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with penetration testing and red teaming functions, including network, web application, mobile, cloud, social engineering, scripting, or tool development.
  • Experience with the tools used for wireless, web application, and network security testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications related to offensive security including OSCE, OSEP, OSEE, OSCP, CCSAS, CCT, INF, or relevant SANS courses.
  • Experience conducting pen tests on cloud environments, identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities, and proficiency with various pen testing tools and techniques (e.g., Kali Linux, Metasploit, Burp Suite).
  • Experience implementing or assessing information security implementation or assessment of security controls.
  • Knowledge of tools used for wireless, web application, and network security testing.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop documentation and explain technical details in a concise manner.

Responsibilities

  • Perform offensive technical cyber security engagements of a varied nature.
  • Interface with clients to address concerns, issues, or escalations.
  • Track and drive to closure any issues that impact the engagements, advising on security best practices for remediating discovered issues.
  • Expand the team's capabilities through tool creation, research on offensive techniques, incorporation of threat actor intelligence, internal presentations and knowledge share.
  • Develop comprehensive and accurate reports and presentations for both technical and executive audiences, and act as a trusted advisor to C-level, security leaders, and other customer stakeholders.
  • Assist with scoping prospective engagements, leading teams for engagements from kickoff through the remediation phase, as well as mentoring other staff.
