As a Security Consultant at Google Public Sector, you will play a crucial role in helping clients prepare for, mitigate, and respond to cybersecurity threats. This position involves conducting offensive security assessments, including penetration testing and red teaming, to identify vulnerabilities in client networks and applications. You will also provide consulting services, assess security controls, and communicate complex security concepts to various stakeholders, ensuring that clients can effectively defend against cyber threats.

  • Perform offensive technical cyber security engagements of a varied nature.
  • Interface with clients to address concerns, issues, or escalations, and track and drive to closure any issues impacting engagements.
  • Advise on security best practices for remediating discovered issues.
  • Expand the team's capabilities through tool creation, research on offensive techniques, and incorporation of threat actor intelligence.
  • Develop comprehensive and accurate reports and presentations for both technical and executive audiences.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to C-level, security leaders, and other customer stakeholders.
  • Assist with scoping prospective engagements and lead teams from kickoff through the remediation phase, mentoring other staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with penetration testing and red teaming functions, including network, web application, mobile, cloud, social engineering, scripting, or tool development.
  • Experience with tools used for wireless, web application, and network security testing.
  • Certifications related to offensive security including OSCE, OSEP, OSEE, OSCP, CCSAS, CCT, INF, or relevant SANS courses.
  • Experience conducting pen tests on cloud environments and identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities.
  • Proficiency with various pen testing tools and techniques (e.g., Kali Linux, Metasploit, Burp Suite).
  • Experience implementing or assessing information security controls.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop documentation and explain technical details concisely.
