We are currently seeking a Security Consultant in our San Antonio, TX office . As a Security Consultant, you will be responsible for assisting the support efforts relating to crisis management, physical security countermeasures, contingency planning, business continuity, building design, security assessments and exercise coordination efforts. The Security Consultant 1 will also provide advice and assistance on strategic and tactical security issues affecting the project. This role assists the Security team in enhancing our clients’ overall security posture and resilience to potential threats and disruptions.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with physical security aspects of building construction, to include working with blueprints and related technical construction documents
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with IT-based security management systems (to include but not limited to: Closed Circuit TV (CCTV), physical access control, and intrusion detection systems)
  • Knowledge of global security operations including Anti-Terrorism, Physical Security Countermeasures (PSC), and Contingency Planning (CP)
  • Experience performing vulnerability and gap analysis
  • Experience performing and leading exercises related to various types of emergency events
  • Experience determining countermeasures based on risk analysis
  • Ability to constructively engage and resolve challenging situations
  • Independent self-starter, proactive and professional assertive
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 30% with overnight stays
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree, or equivalent required
  • 1 year of experience minimum required, 2 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
  • Experience and certifications with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Homeland Security in the areas of Incident Command System (ICS) Emergency Management, Emergency Response, and Critical Infrastructure and Assessments
  • Experience with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, personnel, and procedures (e.g. Unified Facilities Code, US Army Corps of Engineers and other guidance and documentation on force protection construction and engineering)
  • Associates degree, or certificate, preferred
  • 5 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in in the security industry or 2 years of design consulting experience.
  • Experience and certifications with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Homeland Security in the areas of Incident Command System (ICS) Emergency Management, Emergency Response, and Critical Infrastructure and Assessments
  • Experience with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, personnel, and procedures (e.g. Unified Facilities Code, US Army Corps of Engineers and other guidance and documentation on force protection construction and engineering)
  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments of related facilities
  • Assist in consulting services on building design with clients
  • Assist in consulting services on landscape design with clients
  • Provide recommendations using risk management principles, for sound mitigation techniques using proven and field-tested systems
  • Interact and coordinate activities with the field offices for proper integration and implementation of developed plans
  • Assist with reviewing modifications to existing facilities and for the acquisition of Government-owned and leased facilities supporting company missions and prepare detailed reporting documentation
  • Work with various security and facilities staff and advise the use of best practices in acquisition, lease, or modification to facilities
  • Assist with conducting policy research, and make recommendations, covering new tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Attend approved key trade shows, symposiums, working groups, etc.
  • Interact with vendors, engineers, developers, and others to gain knowledge of state of art and industry information
