About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Security Chief for a position on Kauai, HI. Under the general direction of the Security and Emergency Services Manager, this non-union manager is responsible for the overall administration, training and supervision of the Security Guard Department consisting of patrolling and installation entry control functions, emergency security responses, hazardous material response and cordon, natural disaster response and evacuations, resource protection, crime prevention, missile launch support and personnel development. Responsibilities: Act independently, and manage all Security Guard functions. Supervise pre-incident planning, policies and procedures Ensures all Security Department personnel perform their duties as assigned, personnel are properly assigned, and all required equipment is available and well maintained Responsible for the life and security of all assigned personnel Accountable for the discipline and efficiency of the personnel assigned Must have the ability to manage a large work force of over 65 personnel on a 24-hour, three-shift operation Responsible for administering discipline as necessary to maintain a well-disciplined security force Must interact with the command, local and state police agencies for coordination of responses to security related incidents. Acts as the Point of Contact (POC) for all Police and Security agencies for the Koa Lani Security Guard Department Works in coordination with the Security and Emergency Services Manager to ensures all Statement of Work (SOW) Requirements are identified and accomplished. Physical Elements: Lifting: Over 50 lbs Positions: Walking/Standing; Crawling, Kneeling; Repetitive Stooping & Climbing; Sitting. Pushing/ Pulling: Over 50 lbs Environmental: Customer Contact; Extended Work Day; Confined Work Area; Office Laboratory; Field Assignment

Requirements

  • Ten years of experience as a principle supervisor or manager in an operation the size and scope similar to that of the Pacific Missile Range Facility and at least 7 years’ experience with an organized security or police department
  • Must possess a valid state of HI driver’s license
  • Must have excellent communications and cognitive skills to effectively handle emergency operations
  • Must have good computer skills for daily reporting requirements.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills to promote effective team and group dynamics.
  • Must possess the following PC skills: Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Fall Protection/Tower Rescue
  • Information Assurance
  • CPR AED and First Aid
  • NSF Apprentice Training
  • Physical Readiness Test (PFRT)
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Police Science or other related field OR minimum 7 years of supervisory/managerial experience in the Security or Police field of work in lieu of degree.
  • Secret security clearance is required.
  • Applicants selected must be a US Citizen in order to apply for a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
