About The Position

The Security Center Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Security Operations Center, ensuring effective monitoring and response to security issues for Travis County. This role involves direct supervision of staff, coordination of security systems, and implementation of security policies and procedures. The position requires working overnight shifts and may involve weekends and holidays to meet the operational needs of the County.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in security, public safety, or a related field.
• Five years of related experience in security or emergency services.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Ability to pass a background investigation, including fingerprint clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Prior military, law enforcement, or public safety dispatcher experience.
• Experience with access control, alarm monitoring, and CCTV systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead assigned staff, setting achievable goals and milestones.
• Coordinate operations of physical and personnel security platforms, including access control and video surveillance.
• Develop, implement, and refine security policies and procedures.
• Communicate new processes to team members and ensure compliance.
• Ensure enhanced situational awareness and centralized operations of County security systems.
• Oversee training activities to maintain team operational readiness.
• Report security concerns and incidents to upper management in a timely manner.
• Provide continuous improvement of operational controls to mitigate threats.
• Operate security computer systems and radio systems as assigned.
• Develop and update checklists and protocols for incident management.
