About The Position

The Auxiliary Security Officer provides supplementary security support to enhance the overall security program. This role assists the primary security team in maintaining a safe and secure environment through vigilant observation, professional presence, and adherence to established security protocols. The Auxiliary Security Officer performs essential security functions during peak periods, special events, or to provide coverage during staff shortages. This position requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to quickly adapt to various security assignments while maintaining consistent service standards and professional conduct.

Requirements

Previous security experience preferred but not required
Military, law enforcement, or public safety background beneficial
Experience in customer service or public-facing roles
Understanding of basic security principles and practices
High school diploma or equivalent
Active BSIS Guard Card
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Strong observation skills and attention to detail
Effective verbal and written communication abilities
Basic computer skills for report writing and communications
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and perform security duties in various weather conditions
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical capability to respond to security situations
Professional demeanor and appearance
Maintains vigilant awareness of surroundings
Demonstrates good judgment in security situations
Follows security protocols consistently
Remains calm and composed during incidents
Projects confidence and authority appropriate to the role

Responsibilities

Conduct security patrols of assigned areas to maintain visibility and deter unauthorized activities.
Monitor access points and enforce visitor management protocols as directed.
Respond to security incidents according to established procedures and escalation protocols.
Assist with crowd management and traffic control during special events or emergency situations.
Maintain vigilant observation for suspicious activities, safety hazards, or security concerns.
Document all security activities, incidents, and observations in daily logs and reports.
Communicate security information clearly to supervisors and team members.
Provide detailed shift handover information to ensure continuity of security operations.
Respond to emergency situations according to established protocols and procedures.
Assist with evacuations, shelter-in-place, or other emergency response activities as directed.
Provide basic first aid or CPR if properly trained and authorized to do so.
Support coordination with external emergency responders when required.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times while on duty.
Interact with employees, visitors, and the public in a courteous and respectful manner.
Follow all company policies, security procedures, and post orders.
Participate in security training and professional development activities as required.
