As part of Viasat’s Global Security team, you will help safeguard an organization known for advancing secure, reliable communications solutions for both commercial and government customers. In this role on the Security Operations team, you will represent Viasat’s commitment to safety, integrity, and service by greeting and supporting employees, partners, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner. You will enforce established procedures designed to protect Viasat personnel, facilities, property, proprietary technologies, and government–controlled information. Responsibilities include conducting routine safety and security rounds, performing facility integrity checks, monitoring visitor activity, and ensuring proper badging and escort procedures across Viasat’s campus locations. You will also monitor alarm, access control, and video surveillance systems, and support emergency response protocols while following detailed, documented processes.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in general security, administration, or related support roles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and standard office equipment
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with Viasat employees, visitors, and partners
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to work out of the Carlsbad, CA office location
  • This position includes operation of a company vehicle and will require a valid driver’s license and compliance with the Viasat Vehicle Driver Policy. A detailed Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) assessment will be required as part of Viasat’s pre-employment screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience utilizing visitor management, video surveillance, access control, and other security management systems
  • Current eligibility for a U.S. Government Secret clearance
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification
  • Education: AA/AS degree

Responsibilities

  • Monitor video surveillance, alarm, access control systems, and respond quickly and appropriately to security events
  • Enforce Viasat security policies in a professional, approachable, and customer-focused manner
  • Maintain familiarity with Viasat policies, procedures, and operational requirements, especially regarding security, safety, and administrative compliance
  • Perform effectively under pressure, multitask, and adapt to rapidly changing priorities during alarms or emergent incidents
  • Document security incidents and daily activity reports clearly, accurately, and consistently
