At FAPS, the Security Associate will maintain the security of all company property by controlling access to the property; appropriately screening and directing incoming customers, employees, and visitors; and making daily inspections of the property. Essential Duties Screen all vehicles entering port property for proper clearance. Control outgoing traffic to ensure no vehicles or property leaves the premises without proper authorization. Assist employees and customers as necessary to locate or start vehicles. Log all vehicles/persons entering the gate and issue a visitor pass, if appropriate. In a professional and pleasant manner, determine the nature of the visitor's business and direct them to the appropriate building and/or parking area. Notify the FAPS office when visitors enter the property and the nature of their business, if appropriate. Collect paperwork from Truckers or other individuals removing vehicles from the property to insure they have proper clearance and are removing only the number of cars indicated on the paperwork. Maintain a log of all carriers removing vehicles from the premises. Forward log and load sheets to Security Manager each Morning. Visually and physically inspects property for signs of intrusion and contacts supervisor in the event of a security breach. During in climate weather, look for signs of rising water or other physical hazards to employees and/or property. Take proper precautions to vehicles to prevent damages. Assist truckers in locating vehicles by VIN number. After close of business for the day, inspect all buildings to ensure entrances and exits are secured. Maintain a safe working environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety. Perform other duties as assigned. Shift: Monday - Sunday shift work with possible overtime as needed.
