About The Position

The Security Assistant Shift Manager is responsible for supervising staff and the overall daily management of a designated shift in the security department. This role involves ensuring guest satisfaction, managing security operations, and maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma/GED; one year of Casino Security experience or two years of Security, Military, or Law Enforcement experience that demonstrates qualities of sound judgment and dependability; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic computer knowledge; competent in Microsoft Office applications, email use, and incident report data entry preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to scheduling and coordinates with manager regarding any concerns, with attention to guest satisfaction
  • May be responsible for assisting in the budget process for the department by providing recommendations; supports compliance to departmental budget initiatives; reports budget concerns to manager
  • Serves as the Security Manager on duty in the absence of the Security Shift Manager
  • Enforces internal control policies and procedures including but not limited to underage gambling and drinking laws
  • Maintains safety and inspections reports for the property
  • Conducts regular Security post inspections
  • Prepares Security incident reports and maintains Security logs
  • Responds to guest and employee concerns and complaints and solves their problems with professionalism and compassion
  • Ensures Security Officers adhere to uniform dress and grooming standards consistent with departmental and company policies
  • Interacts and cooperates with regulatory, fire/rescue, and law enforcement agencies
  • Responsible for staff development and training programs
  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement
  • Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees regarding performance
  • Provides recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning, and directing work) to meet business needs
  • Manages work procedures and expedites workflow
  • Provides recommendation for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, and counseling)
  • Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance within area of authority and reporting potential issues to management
