About The Position

We currently have a career opportunity for an Security Architect to join our team on client site near Charlotte, NC. Job Overview: Our client's Cybersecurity team is seeking an exceptional Security Architect to engage on project efforts in M&As, Data, Cloud, and On-prem security architectures. As the Security Architect , will work side by side with our Development, Operations, Business units, and Enterprise Architecture teams to ensure our environments are secured and monitored. The right person for this role will have a broad technical security background with a focus on security design, and architectures. provides technology direction, ensures project implementation compliance, and utilizes technology research to innovate, integrate, and manage technology solutions. As a Technology Architect, you will significantly contribute to identifying best-fit architectural solutions for one or more projects; you will collaborate with some of the best talent in the industry to create and implement innovative high quality solutions, participate in Sales and various pursuits focused on our clients' business needs. This role is considered part of the Business Unit Leadership team and may mentor Junior Architects and /or development team members. Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in Cybersecurity
  • 7+ years of experience in a technical infrastructure or systems role prior to security experience within the data, networking and/or system administration discipline
  • 8+ years of experience working knowledge of information security controls, guidelines, and standards (e.g., ISO27000 series, OWASP, CSA CCM, CIS 20 Critical Security Controls, SOX, and NIST).
  • Must be self-driven, yet flexible and highly adept at consulting, negotiating, communicating, consensus building, and presenting.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance.

Nice To Haves

  • CCSP/Other Cloud Specific Certification, CISSP and/or GIAC are a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS and its core services, including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, and security-related services like security groups, ACLs AWS Security Hub, AWS WAF.
  • Solid experience securing scalable web architectures and distributed systems.
  • Solid understanding of malware, emerging threats, attacks, and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and delivers best-in-class security architecture and patterns, leveraging defensible industry reference models and standards.
  • Drives the maturation of network, infrastructure, and data security capabilities, aligning with strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Acts as a trusted subject matter expert (SME), advising on cybersecurity best practices and emerging trends.
  • Provides SME support for M&A activities, ensuring secure integration and implementation of solutions across acquired entities.
  • Collaborates with Data and Enterprise Architects to secure sensitive information using advanced techniques such as data masking and tokenization, evaluating trade-offs of each control.
  • Documents, communicates, and maintains security requirements, enabling secure design and development across business and technology teams.
  • Identifies cybersecurity risks and opportunities across domains and partner organizations, recommending actionable solutions to mitigate threats.
  • Develops, reviews, and approves cybersecurity standards, partnering with domain teams to ensure alignment and validate control effectiveness.
  • Analyzes emerging threats and vulnerabilities, implements mitigation strategies, and communicates risk impacts to relevant stakeholders.
  • Performs additional duties as needed, contributing to the overall success of the security architecture function.
