The Security and Experience Ambassador plays a vital role in serving as both a steward of our physical assets and a champion of the people who walk through our doors daily, creating a welcoming, trusted, and consistent presence for members, guests, partners, and the surrounding community. This is not a traditional security position. This role blends security, hospitality, and community engagement. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professional, welcoming, and service-oriented demeanor
  • Sound judgment and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Reliable, punctual, and accountable
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and events as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in hospitality, customer service, events, or security
  • Experience working in public-facing environments
  • CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Familiarity with Detroit communities and culture

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a proactive, visible presence to help ensure the well-being of Michigan Central’s people, spaces, and assets
  • Monitor entrances, public areas, and activity to identify and address potential concerns
  • Respond to and help de-escalate situations calmly, professionally, and respectfully
  • Conduct routine walkthroughs and environmental checks
  • Document incidents clearly and communicate with leadership and emergency responders when needed
  • Support implementation of facility protocols and procedures
  • Serve as a welcoming, approachable first point of contact for members, guests, and the public
  • Greet visitors, answer questions, and provide directions and assistance
  • Build trusted relationships with tenants, members, and repeat visitors
  • Help create a warm, inclusive, and professional environment aligned with Michigan Central’s values
  • Act as an ambassador of the Michigan Central brand and Detroit community
  • Support public programs, private events, and community activations
  • Assist with guest arrival, access management, and orderly event flow
  • Help ensure events run smoothly while maintaining a protective and welcoming atmosphere
  • Provide exceptional service to partners, speakers, and guests
  • Help maintain a clean, hazard free, and professional environment
  • Identify and report maintenance, environmental, or operational issues
  • Support tours, special activations, and high-profile visits as needed
