About The Position

Safety & Security Management  ● Oversee the management of the day-to-day physical security operations, safeguarding company buildings, grounds, assets, employees, patients, and visitors.  ● Ensure that the security staffing, security systems, fire safety systems, security procedures, and safety plans are in effect to minimize criminal activity, accidents, fires, and natural disasters.  ● Hires, trains, and manages staff in accordance with organizational and approved departmental policies, practices, and programs.  ● Ensures security employees are aware of and adhere to EHC’s guidelines, policies, and goals.  ● Direct and coordinate the activities of all security personnel, engage in the implementation of safety and security procedures for the department, and provide assistance and advice to other departments in relation to security  ● Prepare incident reports and monitor security logs  ● Work with the Departmental manager to ensure EHC’s staff is aware of their security responsibilities  ● Plan, deliver, and facilitate regular staff awareness training  Front Entrance Duties ● Providing customer service by receiving patients and guests through verbal greeting and active assistance as needed in ways that fulfill Esperanza’s mission, including spiritual encouragement, sharing the gospel, prayer, etc.  ● Acts as a resource person for patients and guests on Esperanza healthcare services, operations, and community outreach activities.  ● Monitor activities and needs at the front entrance, answering questions, monitoring, and assisting patients and guests, as needed  ● Call staff members to the front entrance when their guests have arrived.  ● Direct patients and guests around the facility as needed.  ● Maintain a clean and uncluttered front desk and entrance.  ● Watch and respond to issues as seen on the TV monitors and observation from the front desk, per established protocols.  ● Conduct surveillances as directed of parking lots, sidewalk, and exterior and interior of the facility; respond to issues per established protocols.  ● Oversee shipping and receiving per established protocols.  ● Provide light cleaning and upkeep during the day, inside and outside of the facility.  ● Assist with setting up rooms and moving furniture and supplies as needed.  ● Work on operational projects as directed.   Emergency Preparedness & Management:  ● Initiate, consult and coordinate the development and implementation of standardized Emergency Operations Plans for every facility using regional and national best practices.  ● Maintain and update all resource materials associated with emergency preparedness plans. Prepare plans that outline operating procedures to be used in response to and recovery from disasters and emergencies, including, but not limited to, fire, earthquake, flood, high wind, and human threats.  ● Develop and maintain a detailed hazard assessment by location and type, and conduct and maintain a vulnerability analysis by situation type.  ● Regularly evaluates planning outcomes, identifies gaps, and develops recommendations to improve district preparedness.  ● Propose alteration, augmentation, and improvement of emergency response procedures based on regulatory changes, technological changes, and knowledge gained from outcomes of previous emergency situations.  ● Participate in local and regional emergency planning groups and exercises. This includes participation in community threat response and at-risk behavior teams as assigned. Collaborate with other emergency management personnel, local, state, and federal officials, schools, and hospitals in order to facilitate plan development and response effort coordination.  ● Conduct emergency drills regularly by conducting tabletop, functional, and full-scale simulations in conjunction with the appropriate agencies; modifies emergency plans based on the results of simulations to improve the emergency plans efficiency.  Facilities Management: Manage Esperanza’s three facilities by overseeing ongoing interior and exterior cleaning and maintenance needed to ensure the safety of each facility and to maintain a pleasant, safe, and welcoming environment to patients, staff, and the public. Manage and direct the custodial supervisor and staff in scheduled daily and periodic cleaning activities, and oversee the facilities manager in identifying and scheduling planned maintenance and expediting repairs when needed. Ensure compliance with all state and local codes for facility and environmental safety and have the appropriate licenses and certifications. Monitor and oversee maintenance contracts for equipment and environmental services; participate in the identification and selection of new vendors and partners when appropriate to do so. Annually develop and manage the budget for facilities management and work with the Associate Operations Director to develop and manage the annual and long-range (three-year) capital budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Disaster and Emergency Management, Business Continuity, Public Administration, Security, or the equivalent combination of related education and work experience
  • Proven customer service experience as a manager
  • Familiarization with closed-circuit television and alarm systems
  • Familiarization with building access control systems.
  • Must be adept in the use of internet browsers and email clients, MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing to individuals as well as large groups
  • Self-directed and motivated
  • Security industry experience in managerial capacity
  • Experience in the creation and development of emergency preparedness policies and procedures.
  • Ability to listen and respond to demanding guest needs
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail required
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with people of various ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, and life experiences
