About The Position

The Security Analyst - Identity Management position at the University of Vermont involves conducting analyses of operational data to support the Information Security Office's mission. The role focuses on identifying and remediating threats to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information within the university's information ecosystem. The analyst will administer digital identities, authorize service usage, and handle policy violations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in cyber/information security or a related field plus recognized information security certification (or ability to acquire within one year).
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in technology support/information security analysis.
  • Understanding of technical concepts underpinning internet-connected enterprise services.
  • Effective written communication skills for procedural and incident documentation.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to instruct clients in basic account operations and common applications.
  • Effective organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and support cases.
  • Proficiency with common productivity applications and command line interfaces in Windows, macOS, or Linux.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional experience in cybersecurity incident response, endpoint/network forensics, or continuous security monitoring.
  • Ability to produce admissible documentation and maintain evidentiary chain of custody.
  • Experience with cyber threat intelligence platforms.
  • Experience in constituent education/outreach and proficiency in remote instruction tools.
  • Web publishing experience.
  • Familiarity with securing cloud-based email, file storage, and applications.
