About The Position

The Security Analyst I supports the delivery of cybersecurity services that protect client systems, networks, and sensitive data. This role focuses on implementing and monitoring security controls, identifying vulnerabilities, and assisting with the detection and response to security incidents. Working as part of the Security Team, the Security Analyst I collaborates with internal technical teams to ensure security services and projects are delivered according to established agreements, timelines, and industry best practices while maintaining a strong focus on reducing client cyber risk. Requirements

  • Experience administering Microsoft Windows environments including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Exchange Online.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools and vulnerability management processes.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security platforms, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and multi-factor authentication.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and client/server communication within and across network boundaries.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting security logs from firewalls, endpoint security tools, and other monitoring platforms.
  • Knowledge of patch management practices and security update processes.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery principles and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of penetration testing concepts, vulnerability testing methodologies, and computer forensic tools.
  • Ability to communicate technical security issues clearly to peers, management, and internal teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage tasks in a service-driven environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining service quality and meeting expectations.
  • Ability to work indiscriminately with various individuals regardless of their race, color, creed, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by state, federal, or local law.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in an IT or cybersecurity role with security-related responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in system administration, network administration, or a related technical support role preferred.
  • Foundational networking or security certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of security plans, policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Implement and maintain security protections across client environments, including endpoint security tools, authentication controls, and monitoring platforms.
  • Perform vulnerability scans and assist with identifying and validating vulnerabilities within client networks and systems.
  • Monitor client environments for suspicious activity, security alerts, and potential threats.
  • Assist with investigating security alerts and support containment and remediation efforts when security incidents occur.
  • Provide appropriate and timely internal and client notifications regarding security issues, threats, or operational concerns.
  • Enter and maintain accurate service and project tickets in ConnectWise for all work performed.
  • Assist with project-related tasks in ConnectWise as assigned.
  • Escalate service or project issues that cannot be resolved within agreed service levels.
  • Maintain documentation of internal processes, procedures, and operational workflows related to security services.
  • Support internal teams with security-related investigations, remediation activities, or security improvements when required.
  • Participate in internal security team meetings, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
  • Assist in improving internal documentation, operational workflows, and service delivery processes.
  • Develop familiarity with InterDev’s security service catalog and service delivery standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Information Security Manager.
