About The Position

The position involves ensuring the safety of customers, employees, and others while on the premises of HCCTR, including the racing, barn areas, and events showroom. The individual will greet patrons, inspect bags for unauthorized items, assist customers and employees, and report critical situations such as medical emergencies or irate customers. Responsibilities include continual observation and patrolling of the casino premises, ensuring the integrity of all slot and table games, transporting gaming chips, performing drops for table games, and reporting any violations or detrimental situations to security management. The role also involves examining security measures, advising violators of rule infractions, assisting in investigations, and maintaining confidentiality regarding internal functions. The individual is expected to support superior customer service and maintain a professional work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to accurately calculate figures and perform mathematical functions.
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Must obtain licensing with the West Virginia Lottery and Racing Commissions annually.
  • CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Good observation skills.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to work 4 pm - 12 am with Wednesdays/Thursdays off.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of customers, employees, and others on the premises.

  • Transport gaming chips to and from gaming tables.

  • Examine doors, windows, and gates for security.
  • Advise violators of rule infractions.
  • Assist in internal or external investigations.
  • Inspect equipment for tampering.
  • Report irregularities such as fire hazards.
  • Observe departing personnel to guard against theft.
  • Notify supervision in case of emergencies.
  • Permit authorized persons to enter property.
  • Record data on property damage and unusual occurrences.
  • Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic as needed.
  • Support and promote superior customer service.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding internal functions.
  • Participate in meetings and training.
  • Perform all job duties safely and responsibly.
  • Prepare reports as required.
