About The Position

Lonestar Electric Supply Corporate is seeking a Security Administrator to support and protect the company’s multi-location technical infrastructure. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining secure systems across cloud and on-prem environments serving 500+ users. The Security Administrator will play a critical role in safeguarding network resources, strengthening cybersecurity posture, and ensuring operational resilience across the organization. This is an on-site position based in Houston, TX, within a rapidly growing and multi-state organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5–10 years of experience in network security, systems administration, or infrastructure security roles.
  • Proven experience managing Azure infrastructure and cloud security best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments and Active Directory in multi-domain environments.
  • Experience configuring and managing firewalls, endpoint protection, and network security controls.
  • Patch management and vulnerability remediation experience required.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Linux and macOS operating systems preferred.
  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell) and automation preferred.
  • Familiarity with ConnectWise or similar IT service management tools a plus.
  • Industry certifications such as Network+, Security+, SSCP, CEH, or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain security systems to protect network infrastructure, servers, endpoints, and cloud environments.
  • Administer and monitor Azure cloud services, Active Directory (on-prem and Azure AD), and hybrid identity solutions including AD Connect.
  • Configure and manage security controls within Meraki networking environments, firewalls, and endpoint protection platforms.
  • Monitor and remediate vulnerabilities in accordance with company patch management and security policies.
  • Develop and maintain security, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Perform ongoing risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to reduce exposure.
  • Provide technical oversight for security-related infrastructure decisions and projects.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure and security issues.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation for security policies, procedures, and system configurations.
  • Support compliance efforts and maintain audit readiness where applicable.
  • Participate in scheduled on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to strengthen overall infrastructure reliability and security posture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
