About The Position

Sectional Care I is responsible for the care and maintenance of plants within a designated area of the production yard. This role supports plant health and production quality by maintaining plant areas, monitoring irrigation conditions, and ensuring plants are properly maintained and organized. Sectional Care staff work closely with Yard Management and Inventory teams to maintain plant health, support accurate plant movement, and ensure their assigned areas remain clean, organized, and safe.

Requirements

Ability to recognize basic plant health and plant care needs.
Ability to follow direction and work effectively within a team environment.
Ability to communicate with Yard Management and Inventory staff regarding plant movement and plant health concerns.
Ability to perform general nursery maintenance tasks.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working in a nursery, landscape, or agricultural environment.
Basic understanding of irrigation systems and plant maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

Maintain plant areas by pulling weeds, removing suckers, and consolidating plant stock within the assigned section.
Monitor irrigation within the assigned area to help ensure plants receive proper watering and are not overwatered or underwatered.
Communicate with Inventory staff when plants are consolidated or moved within the yard.
Notify Inventory staff when plants show signs of poor health or decline.
Communicate with Yard Management regarding daily and weekly tasks.
Maintain assigned nursery areas to ensure they remain clean, organized, and safe for employees, customers, and vendors.
Ensure nursery stock is handled carefully, watered appropriately, and placed in the proper location.
Assist other nursery departments as needed.
Support general nursery operations and plant care activities.
