The HW Organization provides engineering design, integration and production to core radar, sonar, torpedo, and combat system competencies (process and control, integration and test, power systems, torpedo and sonar electronics, receivers and exciters, antennas and microwave subassemblies).

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience including Analog/Digital system, subsystem and/or component analysis, design and test
  • Hands-on experience with simulation tools such as Pspice or Mentor Graphics' Xpedition and analytical tools such as Matlab
  • Experience in leading teams and programmatic reviews such as QPRs, proposals, EACs, and conflict resolution
  • Experience in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentations
  • Experience in cost estimating, budget and schedule management

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading technical teams in Undersea and/or Radar developments
  • Understanding of allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level
  • Experience in a production environment
  • Strong academic background that includes courses in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetic Theory and Acoustics
  • Strong hands-on experience with testing techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, and Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs)
  • Existing Top Secret clearance or ability to obtain a Top secret clearance with interim clearance
  • Ability to successfully interact and relate with people of different experience levels and backgrounds

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects for both development and production
  • Earned Value Management
  • Work with the department manager to help staff multiple programs, control overhead costs, develop and deliver employee performance reviews, and develop/review proposals
  • Provide support to management at the HW leadership level and the engineering level
  • Guide the careers of up to 20 employees to maximize their potential and effectiveness
