About The Position

A hospital-based healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Section Coordinator – Laboratory to support laboratory operations during the night shift. This role is responsible for coordinating laboratory workflow, performing complex diagnostic testing, maintaining quality control standards, and assisting laboratory leadership with staff development and operational efficiency . The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely laboratory diagnostics that support patient care.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Science (Required)
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist (Required)
• State of Florida Technologist Supervisory License (Required)

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or a related field
• ASCP certification or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Perform STAT laboratory procedures and analyze testing samples accurately and efficiently.
• Conduct and document quality control procedures in accordance with established laboratory protocols.
• Assist the Supervisor or Department Head with staff development and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., CAP standards).
• Participate in training and mentoring laboratory personnel .
• Prioritize, perform, or delegate laboratory testing based on: Accurate patient information Staff competencies Productivity guidelines Department policies and standards of care
• Provide operational updates and feedback to the Laboratory Manager .
• Demonstrate leadership by fostering positive team collaboration and strong working relationships within the laboratory department.
