The Section 8 Program Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting a team of Program Representatives by performing a variety of administrative tasks in a collaborative and team-oriented work environment. This position is based in Worcester, MA, and is focused on assisting with the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program. The Program Assistant will be responsible for organizing and mailing recertification paperwork, managing and tracking the status of participant submissions, and assisting with the mailing of packages and notices. The role requires a proactive approach to follow up with program participants regarding their income, assets, and other necessary documentation to ensure compliance with program requirements. In addition to administrative tasks, the Program Assistant will be involved in scanning documents into the required software system and assisting with the calculation of participants' income, assets, and expenses to determine their continued eligibility for the program. Maintaining effective communication with program representatives regarding documentation and audit requirements is essential. The Program Assistant will also provide support to managers and other team members with special projects as assigned, respond to phone inquiries, and maintain a filing system for both active and inactive participant files. Participation in regular staff meetings and trainings mandated by the funding source and RCAP Solutions, Inc. is also a key aspect of this role.
