About The Position

The Secretary 9 (Section Secretary) position serves as a management assistant within the Groundwater and Geological Services Section, Underground Injection Storage and Carbon Management Section, and Administration Section of the Geologic Resource Management Division. This role is responsible for coordinating secretarial and clerical support activities for Section Managers and professional staff, acting as a liaison between the Section Manager and other staff, and engaging with the public regarding groundwater data and water use assessment programs. This is a limited-term position lasting two years.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Four years of office experience involving administrative support practices, including one year equivalent to advanced 8-level administrative support work, or equivalent to a Secretary E8, or Legal Secretary E8.
  • OR four years of office experience involving administrative support practices, including two years equivalent to experienced E7-level administrative support work, or equivalent to a Secretary 7, or Legal Secretary 7.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience handling sensitive material or highly confidential documents.
  • Experience working with requests for information (FOIA).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate secretarial and clerical support activities for Section Managers and professional staff.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Section Manager and other EGLE professional staff.
  • Engage with the public regarding the Groundwater Data Unit and Water Use Assessment Unit Programs.
  • Assist in managing office operations and administrative tasks for the sections.
