Lewis Central Community School District is seeking an 8th-12th grade TAG Teacher to serve at Lewis Central Middle School and Lewis Central High School for the 2026-27 School Year. Lewis Central Middle School serves approximately 730 students in grades 6-8 and houses over 60 instructional staff. Lewis Central High School serves approximately 1020 students in grades 9-12 and houses over 65 instructional staff. Applicants for this position must currently hold or be able to obtain an Iowa teaching license with the appropriate endorsement, including a conditional license through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners no later than August 2026. Acceptable Endorsements through the Iowa BOEE for this position include: PK-12 Talented and Gifted - 107 Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the building administrators, facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills by implementing district approved curriculum (following the Iowa Teaching Standards for subject listed above), documenting student progress and outcomes, addressing specific educational needs of individual students and creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment. Provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals. This position will also collaborate with building staff including other teachers, support staff, administration and district support staff to carry out our mission of inspiring excellence .
