About the position

The Secondary Summer School Guidance Counselor position is available for internal applicants only. The summer school will run from May 27th to June 27th, with daily hours varying based on needs, not exceeding 70 hours in total. Planning meetings will take place in the spring, and specific registration hours are outlined for various dates throughout May and June. The role includes responsibilities for finalizing credits and AIR Testing during the last days of the program.

Responsibilities

• Conduct registration meetings and assist with the registration process.
• Finalize credits and conduct AIR Testing during the designated period.
• Manage online courses and ensure students meet graduation requirements.
• Communicate effectively with district staff, students, parents, and the general public.

Requirements

• Valid Ohio Department of Education license/certificate in the appropriate field.
• Experience as a High School Guidance Counselor.
• Experience managing online courses.
• Understanding of general high school courses and graduation requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle problem situations in a tactful and respectful manner.
• Written and computer skills necessary to maintain required documentation.
