About The Position

Secondary Social Studies Teacher Auburn Public Schools is seeking a qualified and dedicated Secondary Social Studies Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year . Position Summary: The Social Studies Teacher will provide high-quality instruction aligned with Nebraska College and Career Ready Standards. The ideal candidate will engage students in meaningful learning experiences that promote critical thinking, civic understanding, and real-world connections.

Requirements

• Valid Nebraska teaching certificate with appropriate Social Studies endorsement (or ability to obtain)
• Strong knowledge of Social Studies content and instructional best practices
• Commitment to student-centered learning and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Social Studies instruction for secondary students
• Develop lessons that promote inquiry, analysis, and understanding of historical and contemporary issues
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
• Use assessment data to guide instruction and improve student outcomes
• Integrate technology to enhance learning
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
• Collaborate with colleagues through PLCs and contribute to school improvement efforts
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
• Support the district’s mission and vision
