Position Summary: The Secondary Operations Technician is responsible for all post machining operations. This can include visually inspecting, deburring, cleaning, tumbling, blasting, laser marking and assembling small, machined components using various hand tools. Additional responsibilities are to operate assigned machines/equipment including but not limited to CNC Milling machines, and wire EDM to produce parts, all of which must meet the dimensional specifications of the mechanical engineered drawing. This effort includes, but is not limited to, conducting basic machine changeovers, accurately completing quality control documentation and inspection sheet. This individual works with other machine operators/technicians and management to ensure good manufacturing practices, inspection techniques, SOPs, and safety regulations every day.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
  • Able to perform visual inspection with the use of a microscope on small parts; strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate math skills in geometric and trigonometric formulas a plus
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with little or no supervision; well organized and possesses the ability to multi-task
  • Team player, open to new ideas and team work, self-motivated individual, willingness to continually strive to increase personal knowledge and value
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Advanced critical thinking and problems-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspects machined components using stereo-microscope
  • Utilizes hand tools including but not limited to deburring knives, files, and pneumatic tools to remove burrs and assemble parts
  • Use of automatic machine equipment to tumble, blast, and clean
  • The ability to hand blast
  • Assembles sub-components into finished assemblies following established procedures
  • Visually inspects utilizing illumination devices & microscope to view internal areas of components to ensure they are adequately deburred
  • Measures and inspecting medical device products in accordance with manufacturing specifications
  • Loads/unloads parts from CNC machine
  • Implements dimensional adjustments (offsets) as needed and as instructed
  • Accurately completes all quality control documentation and inspection sheets
  • Inspects product in accordance to all verbal and/or written instructions such as part drawings, traveler, work instructions, and process specifications
  • Embraces good manufacturing practices and inspection techniques each day; following all SOPs and safety regulations
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties
