About The Position

The Secondary Art Teacher at Midland Christian School is responsible for developing and implementing an engaging art curriculum for middle school students. This position requires a deep commitment to the Christian faith, a passion for teaching, and the ability to integrate faith-based principles into the art curriculum.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree Required

Responsibilities

Curriculum Development: Develop and implement art lessons that align with the school’s faith-based mission and academic objectives.
Plan engaging lessons that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Design art projects that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-expression
Integrate Bible stories, faith-based values, and character education into lessons
Classroom Management: Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment
Encourage students to express their faith and creativity
Foster collaboration and teamwork among students
Instruction and Assessment: Teach fundamental artistic skills, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media
Introduce students to various art styles, artists, and art history, incorporating faith-based themes when applicable
Provide constructive feedback to support academic and spiritual growth
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
Spiritual Development Model Christ-like behavior and values through actions and interactions with students. Exemplary behavior and character consistent with Christian values, serving as a positive role model for students both inside and outside the classroom.
