About The Position

The Children's National/GWU Neonatal Perinatal Fellowship Program offers a three-year, ACGME-accredited fellowship in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine. This program is designed to provide comprehensive clinical and research training in various aspects of Neonatal Perinatal Medicine, including Labor & Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), ECMO, and Follow-up clinic, as well as other subspecialties such as Cardiac Intensive Care (CICU). Fellows will actively participate in clinical rotations and gain hands-on experience in patient care across multiple settings.

Requirements

  • Must have completed 3 years of Pediatric residency in an approved training program.
  • Must have 2-3 letters of recommendation, including one from the chairman or program director of the training department.
  • Must have completed medical school in the U.S. or be ECFMG certified if an international medical graduate.
  • Must be able to obtain a District of Columbia unrestricted medical license prior to starting fellowship training.
  • Must have successfully passed all three steps of the USMLE.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in patient care in Labor & Delivery, NICU, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Follow-up Clinic, Cardiac Intensive Care (CICU), and ECMO.
  • Engage in didactics and instructional activities including simulation training, round-table discussions, Neonatology seminars, workshops, journal clubs, and one-on-one teaching.
