About The Position

The Second Shift Working Foreman, working in conjunction with the Press Feeder, assists in the production of high-quality printing jobs, to meet customer and company expectations, in a cost-effective manner while meeting strict deadlines, on one of several large printing presses. The Second Shift Working Foreman will also oversee Second Shift production in the plant in all departments and be a go-to person for any issues or challenges that may arise during the shift.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience running a 6-color press with aqueous coating.
• Some supervisory experience is a plus.
• Excellent eye for detail.
• Highly motivated with a positive attitude.
• Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.
• Basic knowledge of computers; knowledge of Pace is a plus.
• Ability to achieve proper registration, ink and water balance.
• Working knowledge of dot gain, proper trap, inks and coatings.
• Ability to retrieve JDF files and preset the CPC 2000.
• Good eye for color and ability to match proofs.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds on occasion.
• Ability to operate motorized pallet jack and/or forklift (certification may be required).

Nice To Haves

• Heidelberg Press experience preferred.
• Complete understanding of LAB values.
• Knowledge of Heidelberg Image Control.
• Understanding of plate curves and their effects on CT values.
• Knowledge of the Alcolor Water System and Vario Roller Hickey Picking System.
• Working knowledge of the Technotrans Cooling and Water System.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the production of high-quality printing jobs.
• Oversee Second Shift production in all departments.
• Communicate effectively with manufacturing personnel.
• Keep accurate and complete daily records for data collection.
• Meet company and departmental standards, including Customer Requirements, Compliance, Safety, Quality, etc.
• Follow Lahlouh ISO Quality Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Work overtime and weekends as business needs dictate.
• Assist in training new and temporary employees.
• Approve production runs.
• Assist clients and Sales Department with press checks.
